34 ideas for a Game Of Thrones themed wedding

34 ideas for a Game Of Thrones themed wedding

Written by Katie Byrne

Obsessed with the show? Us too. Here's how to incorporate it into your celebration (hopefully without any Red Wedding dramas...)

Okay, we get it. The only thing you're more excited about other than your wedding day is finding out whether or not Jon Snow is dead. So if Game Of Thrones is your second biggest passion after your bae, why not theme your nuptials around it?

Obviously there are some elements you'll want to gloss over but equally there are plenty of ways the cult-show can make your day oh-so dreamy: from luxe metallics befitting a kingly Stark to dreamy bridal style perfect for treating your inner khaleesi... Stop drooling and start scrolling. Enjoy!

Kickstart your theme from the very off by picking themed stationery.

No room for pretty pastels or watercolour bunting here: think majestic shades, decadent embellishments and calligraphy. A casual coat of arms or crest is optional but preferable.

Now: to the venue.

Ideally, you'll be heading outdoors (those luxe faux furs will keep you warm). The dream? A forest, full of tall trees and atmospheric blank spaces.

We love, love, love how online entrepreneur Sean Parker and Alexandra Lenas transformed a Big Sur clearing for their dream Game Of Thrones-inspired day.

Obsessed!

Obviously, you'll be wearing a wedding dress worthy of the TV show, too.

You have options: think Medieval bell sleeves, boho drapes, heavily embellished show-stoppers...

And obviously you'll be carrying a sword.

On to your bridesmaids!

Also - how fabulous are these dramatic lamp-style floral arrangements?

A dire wolf would also make a great addition to your wedding party, by the way.

Table plan time!

Your tables will obviously be named after locations or characters - and a striking map will just add to the gravity fun of the day.

The perfect decoration for your venue, whether indoors or out?

Candles!

Candles EVERYWHERE...

...And in increasingly creative layouts.

Let's talk flowers!

Think epic displays of fairytale white blooms, arranged in show-stopping displays that will leave your guests with jaws trailing the floors. Or: think rustic, romantic and understated.

Blend blooms with opulent finishing touches - think candles, faux furs, lashings of jewels - for the ultimate in Game of Thrones glamour.

Your cake will obviously be themed around all things GOT.

Think ornate decorations, edible gold and casual sugar-paste swords e'rywhere.

It would almost be wrong to eat something this beautiful.

King's Landing has had a sugary makeover with these cakepops...

Gory but delicious.

It wouldn't be a Medieval-inspired feast without something truly impressive to wow your guests...

Pigeon pie for dayzzz.

Another way to wow? Go all-out and deliver your vows in Dothraki, like this couple did.

Whilst dressed as Khal Drogo and Daenerys Targaryen, naturally.

Whatever you plan - we guarantee you'll have more fun than these two did on their big day. Promise!

These vows are sweet 'n' all but unfortunately 'until the end of my days' was a matter of hours rather than a lifetime away.
