How to secure that honeymoon glow with Skinade

Post-wedding skin blues? Panic not. These tips from Skinade will help you bring back that bridal glow...

So, the big day is fast approaching and you’re finally on top of your skin care routine (hurrah!) but don’t let all that hard work go to waste post-wedding!

As tempting as it may be to let your beauty regime slip - especially when you’re on honeymoon - don't! All your hard work NOW will pay off so that you can look the best possible version of yourself for years to come. Here are Skinade's top tips to ensure that you get the best out of your skin on honeymoon...

#1 Revisit your skincare products!

No matter if you're jetting off to white sandy beaches or going on an adventure holiday with your newly appointed partner in crime, it’s a wise move to consult your skin therapist or even pop into a department or beauty store where a sales consultant will be able to give you the best advice possible.

Due to the change in climate it’s important to pre-empt this, by ensuring that the lotions and potions you apply to your skin are suited to the climate you will be in. What might work for you in a cooler climate could make your skin oily in a warmer environment resulting in blocked pores and black heads...

#2 Sunscreen

At Skinade, we are big advocates of the importance of using sunscreen. The sun damage that is done now can show as early as your mid 30’s.

Wearing a broad-spectrum sunscreen will ensure that your skin will be protected from all UV rays. Ensure that you wear this on a daily basis as the rays from the sun can still penetrate through clouds.

#3 Rethink your make-up

When you're in a different climate your make-up needs (like your skincare) will also change.

Wearing a full face of foundation in a warmer climate can often feel too heavy. We recommend that you definitely review your make-up pre-honeymoon. Primers are great as there are so many options available for all different skin types. As your skin will be in fabulous condition (after using Skinade pre-wedding) there won’t be a need for you to wear foundation. However, if you feel more comfortable wearing foundation a good alternative is tinted moisturiser or mineral powders as they provide coverage while still allowing your skin to breathe.

Consulting your make-up artist at your trial or even on the big day is something we would suggest as they'll know what works best for your skin type and the climate you're heading to...

#4 Inside out approach

We all know that what you put into your body shows on the outside.

Having a healthy diet is key to ensuring your skin is getting what it needs to stay as radiant as possible and to maintain that bridal glow. Of course don’t restrict yourself too much, there are fantastic alternatives to sweet things, such as dark chocolate which is a natural antioxidant.

While reconsidering your food choices, looking at what supplements your skin needs will further benefit your complexion. Drinking a micronutrient designed specifically for your skin, like Skinade, will really benefit your post-wedding skincare ensuring your bridal glow won’t fade #hurrah!

#5 Exercise

Believe it or not, exercise is not just great for body and mind, it also works wonders for your skin. When you work out you increase your heart rate.

This means that as your body is pumping more blood it also pumps nutrients and oxygen rich blood around the body resulting in that post-workout glow and increased circulation. Sweating the wedding planning stress out is also a great way of detoxifying the body!
