Minnie and Paul's charmingly laidback al-fresco celebration was peppered with boho-inspired details
Minnie Brown, a hairdresser, and Paul Elkerton, an engineer, both 28, married at the Casa Felix in Olivella, Spain.
Paul and I grew up in the same area and met when we were teenagers. We hit it off straightaway and he proposed in New York.
We opted for a chic bohemian-style theme for our big day; I wore a custom-made two-piece dress which really fitted my quirky, boho style.
Being an outdoor wedding in Spain, we wanted to incorporate some of the country's elements, so we had an acoustic playlist playing throughout the day which really set the mood.
Sunflowers were a prominent feature within our decor, as they complemented the Spanish sunshine perfectly.
We had a buffet-style BBQ menu which was great as it kept the day flowing - and meant that our guests weren't forced to stay in their seats in the sweltering heat! It was also a great way to get our guests mingling.
Our naked cake had three tiers filled with vanilla buttercream and was topped with fresh fruit. Everyone said how delicious it was.
My gran Philomena (who I am named after - Minnie for short!) passed away some time before the wedding, so a friend gave me a photo frame charm with a small picture of her inside to attach to my bouquet.
Paul and I love to dnce, so we had a wedding mantra of 'Get up and dance!' as we were keen for our guests to just let go and enjoy themselves.
As it was, Paul and I were the first and last on the dancefloor - we got to bed at 4.30am!
My tip for brides-to-be: Go with what you truly want and don't stress out too much. All that matters is that you and your groom are tying the knot for a reason - so make your day one big party that's a celebration for all!
Steal their style!
