32 colour palette ideas for your bridesmaids' dresses

32 colour palette ideas for your bridesmaids' dresses

Written by Katie Byrne

Not sure which colour(s) you want your girls to rock on your W-day? Get inspired with our edit of ideas!

WHITE

A controversial place to start, perhaps - but if you want to emphasise your bridesmaids inclusion in your bridal party to the max, why not consider pretty white gowns for your ladies?

Follow the lead of bride Ria and stand out from your girls by picking matching dresses and different accessories...

Or make like this beautiful bride by picking cute frocks with a different neckline to yours.

And we adore how Sam's best friends matched the pretty lace necklines of their frocks to their gypsophilia posies. So. Pretty!

BLUE

For the ultimate 'something blue', why not pick gowns in the beautiful bridal shade?

We love how Rebecca's bridesmaids matched their pale turquoise frocks with vibrant flowers...

Icy shades work well for all seasons - follow the lead of these bridesmaids by picking multiway dresses in the same shade for a subtle mix-n-match feel.

Richer shades of blue can look equally gorgeous for summer or winter weddings - it's all about the accessories! Think oodles of flowers for a sunny wedding and cosy faux fur cover-ups or blankets for a cooler celebration.

PASTELS

If you want your girls to wear the same colour, consider mixing things up by tasking each one of them with adding a finishing detail that's unique to them - whether it be a hairstyle, statement piece of jewellery, a pretty floral accessory...

Joanne's bridesmaids were lovely in lilac...

Whilst Michelle's were pretty in pink!

Claire's 'maids looked gorgeous in pale pink gowns, which were off-set perfectly by their vibrant bouquets.

BOLDER SHADES

If bright colour is your thing, opt for punchy shade(s) for the big day: think show-stopping primaries, pops of rainbow-bright hues and colourful finishing touches.

Joanne's bridesmaids were pretty in salmon pink, with their bright bouquets matching their frocks beautifully.

At Bianca's balmy South African celebration, her four bridesmaids dazzled in bright orange... (And spot the usher with his matching bow tie!)

Tosin's nine bridesmaids looked so gorgeous in their mix-n-match bridesmaid gowns - how beautiful is that bright, bright shade of red?

Hot pink makes a truly wow-factor colour choice for your girls...

And what can be more bold than bridesmaids in black? The perfect contrast for a bride in white...

SEQUINS

For a super-luxe look on your wedding day, task your bridesmaids with finding beautiful frocks adorned in sequins.

From single shade sequins...

...To mix-n-match embellished gowns, sequins are a simple way to add some glorious extra glamour to your celebration.

MIS-MATCHED

And on the subject of non-matching sequins - think non-matching with block colours, too!

We love how Abiee and her bridesmaids picked shades that matched the individual bridesmaid, rather than settling on one colour for all.

We can't get enough of this bridal party's vivid ensemble of sunshine-bright hues (perfect for an autumnal wedding, no?).

Variations of the same colour make for endless gorgeous photo opportunities...

Seperates are a great option for mix-n-match bridesmaid parties - especially if your 'maids have drastically varying body shapes.

PATTERNS

The best thing about picking patterned dresses? They can be easily re-used after the wedding day, meaning they make gorgeous additions to your besties' wardrobes.

We absolutely love how Amy's bridesmaids paired their silky floral-print frocks with cosy faux cover-ups.

Bold stripes and watercolour floral prints = super-stylish.

Bridesmaids in non-matching colours, patterns and sequins? We can't quite process such a degree of fabulous.
