6 incredible ways to LIGHT your wedding venue

6 incredible ways to LIGHT your wedding venue

Written by Katie Byrne - WEDDING PROMOTION

Transform a space by picking the perfect light display for your big day!

Fact: lighting can make or break a wedding venue, with the power to transform a space and give it a whole new atmosphere.

Here, Wedding Venue Lighting, a Yorkshire-based firm specialising in adding that illuminating finish to a couple’s special day, have listed six ways you can add some serious wow-factor to your celebration - and light up your wedding day!

#1 Up-lighting

Nicola Weston-Bennett and David Holt got married at Woodhall Hotel and Spa, Wetherby, on 30 December 2016.

The festive time for their nuptials meant the couple’s wedding theme was a glorious Winter Wonderland. They wanted to create a frosty look, to do this, white up lighting was used against all the walls adding a subtle cool vibe. Drapes, a starlit backdrop and jars of fairy lights as centre pieces created the cool effect and tied the whole look together.

#2 Starlight backdrop

Sticking to their Winter Wonderland theme, Nicola and David opted for a starlight backdrop behind the head table to resemble twinkling snow, adding to the magical, icy vibe.

#3 Rustic love letters

Tristram and Heather’s wedding on 1 October 2016 had a shabby-chic theme. The 4ft, lit-up rustic love letters provided the perfect fit and complemented the room spectacularly.

#4 Festoon lights and lanterns

Festoon lights and lanterns go perfect together at Tristram and Heather’s wedding: both similar shapes, with a distinctive contrast in size, they add colour and interesting detail into any venue.

#5 See your name in lights!

Sally-Ann Close and Craig Close got married on the 21st January 2017, and decided to add some wow-factor to their big day by having their initials and date of marriage projected onto their venue in lights!

They first designed their own logo, which was then turned into a gobo (a custom metal plate), which was used to display their logo in lights. Plus, they could keep their gobo at the end of the night as a souvenir.

#6 Flower wall

An illuminated flower wall works perfectly as a romantic backdrop for your dancefloor, or a stunning feature behind your head table! Lights are mixed with gorgeous silk blooms, which are hand-crafted and individually applied to create a luxurious celebrity-inspired look. mixed lights with gorgeous silk flowers which are hand crafted and applied individually to create a luxurious celebrity-inspired look.
