This incredible wedding story *will* make you cry

Written by Katie Byrne, published 9th august

Prepare yourself, people: this real wedding story is totally, utterly moving.

Bride-to-be Brittany Adkins had always imagined her beloved grandfather, Reverend Ronald Adkins, would officiate her wedding - but when he passed away before she tied the knot, it seemed the dream was over.

However, her groom, Jordan Yost, along with her brother and sister, decided to work together to make it happen, using recorded audio from Brittany's sister's 2015 wedding, which Ronald had also officiated.

This bride's dog couldn't attend her wedding - so her dad did something amazing

During Jordan and Brittany's wedding ceremony - which took place in West Virginia, USA, a couple of weeks ago - the preacher asked the couple and their guests to bow their heads in prayer.

To Brittany's astonishment, her grandfather's voice then began to play out over the venue's loudspeaker, saying a prayer for the couple and announcing them husband and wife.

This couple picked a 'flower man' for their wedding day

Sarah Irwin, who photographed the wedding, wrote on her Facebook page (alongside this image, left): "As the preacher asked everyone to bow their heads in prayer, a voice came over the loud speaker. It was the bride’s grandfather who had been called Home last year. He prayed over them & then announced them as husband and wife. I’ve photographed a lot of weddings & this was the most incredible moment I’ve ever had the honor to witness. "You may not be here on my wedding day, but in my heart you’ll always stay.""

Speaking to The Huffington Post about the incredibly emotional moment, Brittany said: "I immediately recognised his voice and started sobbing. Different emotions were racing through my head while trying to soak in hearing my grandpa's voice. I was weak to my knees, chilled, but despite all the tears, I was smiling inside".

What an utterly wonderful idea, don't you think?
