The perfect wedding according to... The five-times-a-bridesmaid
“I’m getting ready to be a bridesmaid for the sixth time this year, so I probably should have a whole list of dos and don’ts by now. But actually, my message is quite simple: don’t worry about your bridesmaids, we’re just happy to be here! And I may have walked down the aisle five times already, but it still feels like such an honour to be there and I love every minute of the run-up to the day.
"In the morning, it’s about making sure the bride has a glass of champagne in hand and all the support she could need. And we really don’t mind if it’s not smooth running. Getting married is a huge deal, and the last thing you need to worry about is whether or not your bridesmaids are enjoying themselves, so treat that as a given.
“Of course, there are some details which are good to know beforehand, such as who will be first to walk down the aisle; which bridesmaids will be paired together if you have more than two, and who’ll sit on the top table.
“Lastly, you don’t have to fork out on expensive gifts; my sister made me a beautiful book filled with pictures and thoughtful messages in a box. It made a really meaningful moment even more special.” – Rachel Prance
