Fresh flower crowns are becoming a popular addition to weddings everywhere as an alternative to the traditional veil. From wild woodland garlands for brides, to simple gypsophila circlets for flower girls, the trend has blossomed into the perfect bridal accessory, and it is easy to see why.
In honour of the budding trend, London-based florist Liz Inigo-Jones of Blue Sky Flowers has devised a day of celebration. National Flower Crown Day will be held on Wednesday 24th September, the last day of summer, as a way to celebrate floral hair garlands and encourage people nationwide to join in the festivities, by wearing their own fresh or synthetic flower circlets.
To celebrate the day, Liz invited fashion & lifestyle assistant Lauren Godfrey, along with some bridal bloggers, to New Covent Garden Flower Market for a flower crown workshop.
