Use the understated elegance of the season to create a celebration full of beautiful details...
One of our favourite blogs Blovedblog, winner of our Editor's Choice award at this year’s Wedding Blog Awards, has undergone a shiny new makeover. We managed to catch-up with editor Louise Beukes herself to share some tips and inspiration on styling a classic and understated winter wedding.
Here, she shares her ideas for creating a dreamy, seasonal celebration...
Planning a winter wedding needn’t feel like drawing the short straw! I’m on a mission to show brides a winter wedding can be just as warm and gorgeous as any mid-summer celebration. With the weather cold and dreary (and let’s face it, little chance of proper snow) winter weddings are the perfect excuse to cosy up inside with your nearest & dearest.
Choose a venue with grand fireplaces and cosy nooks, there’s nothing better than sipping red wine next to a roaring fire.
You can never have too many candles (just check with your venue first), they create a warm, flickering glow as the night draws in.
You don’t need to use red just because it’s winter! An understated palette of white and grey can look totally sophisticated – just add lots of foliage and texture to keep it interesting.
For bridesmaids why not opt for cool platinum and dove grey shades, accessorised with silver or sparkles for an added Christmas feel!
