Y is for... Yosemite National Park
For fresh mountain air, waterfalls, and wildlife such as black bears, bobcats and cougars, head for Yosemite National Park in Northern California. Almost 95% of the park is designated wilderness, and perfect for hiking and climbing, or more gentle walks. The landscape is made up of granite cliffs, rivers and Alpine woodlands, and offers some of the best rock climbing in the world.
The historic Ahwahnee Hotel was specifically built to complement its surroundings of Yosemite Falls Half Dome and Glacier Point – some of the most remarkable views in the area.
