Tally and Blake's luxe celebration was filled with elegant flora and metallic details
Tally, 23, a nurse, and Blake, 24, a financial analyst, married at Middleton Place in Charleston, South Carolina.
We wanted a formal yet fun-filled wedding which also reflected our Texan roots, and our venue’s historic ruins and exquisite gardens provided the perfect setting.
I loved the idea of combining pastel colours, including buttery yellow, lavender and pale blue, so we called upon our wedding stylists at Calder Clark to create a day rich in detail using this palette.
I chose a classic lace fishtail gown by Oscar de la Renta, and I adored it the moment I saw it. My bridesmaids wore floor-length Dessy dresses in a champagne hue, which they teamed with delicate crystal chandelier earrings and posies of peonies and garden roses.
Blake looked dapper in his navy blue custom-made suit, which he wore with a blue and white tie and pocketsquare.
Our reception took place beneath a marquee panelled with gold silk curtains and adorned with flower arrangements in green, yellow and blue.
Custom-made linens and a brass-topped tufted champagne bar adorned with peonies, hydrangeas, garden roses and hellebores completed the look.
We placed gold candelabra all around the marquee to add to the romantic feel. Our show-stopping cake was a prominent feature of the day, it reminded me of a piece of china I loved from my childhood, and looked amazing displayed against a towering wall of greenery.
My favourite moment...
I loved all the dancing – the band kept everyone up on their feet! It was important for us that guests could relax and have fun. The custom bar meant they knew where to find their next cocktail...
My tip for brides-to-be...
Find a planner who understands you implicitly – and who dreams big! That way, you can quit worrying and enjoy the whole event.
Steal their style!
