Creative ways to include flowers in your wedding - beyond the bouquet!

Creative ways to include flowers in your wedding - beyond the bouquet!

Get inspired! The most beautiful ways to include floral flourishes in your wedding day...

Floral footsie

It is a truth universally acknowledged that a girl can never have too many pairs of shoes, and the same could be said for your floral accessories, too!

These emerald Jimmy Choos look even more striking with a fresh floral addition by Celsia Floral, so try jazzing up a simple pair of heels by getting your florist to create fresh flower shoe clips to complement your bouquet.

Collar me pretty

More couples than ever are including pets in their celebrations, and Bride’s Best Friend deserves to look dapper on the big day too. If involving your pedigree chum in the big day, ensure they look the part with a statement flower attached to their collar, or try a hardy foliage wreath. Puppy love!

The right chord

We just love this wildly romantic piano arrangement; it may just be for show and not for go, but creating a grand display using props already at the venue will be music to a budget-bride’s ears.

Look for areas inside the reception rooms to highlight with flowers, but do check regulations with your venue first.

Sweet scent-sation

Turn a plain cake into a canvas for fresh blooms by swapping sugar flowers for a scattering of roses, sweet peas and foliage.

For a rustic, purse-friendly option, consider layering fragrant herbs like rosemary or lavender at each tier instead.

Trunk show

Whether you’re arriving by classic car, horse and carriage or stretch limo, your wedding wheels are the perfect place for a striking showcase.

Use big, blowsy blooms like dahlias, peonies and hydrangeas, and plenty of foliage to create a display which won’t get lost against a vehicle backdrop, much like this arrangement from Flower Wild.

Take a swing

Bridges, gates and swings can all create romantic settings for photographs, so scout around your venue’s garden to uncover its unique features.

Then, ask your florist to dress your discoveries to create floral focal points for your snaps.

On your bike

Don’t worry if your unloved bike is looking worse for wear in the back of the shed, classic bicycle props are available to hire (try Vintage Style Hire).

To complement a country setting, fill the wicker basket with armfuls of British blooms, including open garden roses, delphiniums, stocks, fluffy hydrangeas and foliage.
