Joel and Ashley had their dream wedding - with a little help from the fast-food giants...
Burger King has hit the headlines after paying for a couple's wedding day.
Naturally, there's a very special reason why the burger chain got involved in the celebration: as the groom and bride have the surnames 'Burger' and 'King' respectively.
The fast-foot giant offered to help finance Joel and Ashley's wedding day after the couple announced their engagement in front of a Burger King sign.
The couple have been nicknamed 'Burger-King' since they first met as children.
Burger King spokesman Eric Hirschhorn explained: "When we heard about the happy Burger-King couple, we felt an overwhelming urge to celebrate their upcoming marriage".
Joel and Ashley - who hail from Jacksonville in Illinois - married last week, and as Burger King were kindly funding the day, there were naturally a few subtle twists included in the celebration.
The bride and her maids posed in Burger King paper crowns, whilst the ushers wore Burger King T-shirts under their suits. Guests were also each gifted a $10 voucher to spend with BK.
We're also kinda hoping there were some burgers on the wedding menu, too...
Says groom Joel: "It was awesome. A new package from Burger King arrived every day".
Guests loved the celebration, with one revealing: "It could have been really cheesy but it was such a nice ceremony. Joel and Ashley make a lovely couple. I'm sure it won't be long before they will want a family. Ashley will have her own bun in the oven".
We see what they did there...
