10 indicators you're both ready for marriage

10 indicators you're both ready for marriage

Written by Katie Byrne

The tell-tale signs you're both ready to get married - how many do you and your beau tick off?

#1 You make each other feel like better people.

#2 You've seen each other at your very worst.

In the words of Will Ferrell: “Before you marry a person, you should first make them use a computer with slow Internet to see who they really are.”

#3 You know what your five-year-plan is.

Or roughly, at least. Even if you don't have a concrete timeline of what, where and when, it's good to have a vague idea of what you both want to achieve over the next few years.

#4 Outside of your relationship, you actually really like each other as people, too. Yay!

#5 You can tolerate each other's families.

Well, as much as anyone can ever tolerate their partner's family, of course...

#6 You listen to your single friends' dating stories and don't feel jealous.

You don't wish you were still 'playing the field', and the thought of downloading Tinder makes you shiver.

#7 You can talk openly about periods.

In fact, you sometimes wonder if your H2B knows your cycle better than you do.

#8 You always make up after arguments...

...Because nothing can't be fixed with you guys.

#9 You never get bored of each other. Even chilling out on the sofa together in silence is precious time well spent.

#10 It's not the thought of the wedding day that excites you - rather, it's the idea of the marriage ahead!
