A new survey has also revealed 71% of brides with tattoos pick dresses to show off their body art
A poll conducted by The National Wedding Show has found that over half of UK couples will get tattoos to mark their nuptials.
The research, carried out by the UK's largest wedding show in collaboration with blogger Rock n Roll Bride, also found that almost three-quarters (71%) of the brides quizzed who already have tattoos are planning to wear a wedding dress that will show off their body art.
Another tat-istic (see what we did there?) from the survey found that 73% of inked brides confirming that their tats influenced everything from their wedding stationery through to the cake and the favours. (The most popular styles? Hearts and swallows!)
The wedding-inspired tattoo trend is one favoured by a host of famous faces as well: A-listers who invested in some pre- or post-wedding ink include no less than Beyoncé and Jay-Z.
Speaking to Kat from Rock n Roll Bride about her tattoos, newly-wed bride Vicky from Vicky Morgan tattoos explained: "I didn't cover any of my existing tattoos for our big day and, even if I had wanted to, it would have taken a ridiculous amount of extreme cover-up makeup! I love my tattoos, they are a part of who I am and my husband is the same so to cover them would be getting married as people that we are not".
