Starting the search for your dream wedding gown? You'll probably go through these though processes...
#1 "OMGGG I CAN'T WAIT TO GO DRESS SHOPPING!"
It's arguably the highlight moment of any bride's wedding planning process: a fun day (or two!) out with the girls, looking for the perfect dress for the big day.
#2 "I must remember sensible underwear. Do I actually have any sensible underwear...?"
Two words: sturdy support. Now's not the time for that neon pink thong and bra set. Also, if you normally wear Spanx when you wear a tight dress, you might want to consider bringing them along with you.
#3 "What came first: the accessories or the dress?"
If you've already got your wedding shoes or a vintage veil handed down through the generations in your family, bring them with you so you can try them on with any potential gowns.
#4 "Why did I have such a big lunch?"
Okay, maybe that plate of pasta wasn't the best idea (who knew satin was so un-stretchy?) - but it was delicious at the time. #NoRegrets
#5 "I hope everyone gets on."
Be careful to bring the right people with you when you try on dresses: you don't want to ask too many people along, or any 'clashing' personalities who might dominate your experience.
#6 "Wow, this shop is amazing."
Why are bridal shops always so gorgeous? All big windows, twinkling chandeliers, glasses of Prosecco, fresh flowers... You're in love. Can you move in?
#7 "Huh. Maybe I under-budgeted for the dress."
Know how much you have to spend on your dress and stick to it.
#8 "Um. What if I can't find a dress I like?"
Do your research in advance and have an idea of the style of wedding dress you want - also, find out what brands the boutique stocks so you can browse their collections in advance.
#9 "How is 'slipping' into a wedding dress so bloomin' hard?"
Because there's no such thing as slipping into a wedding dress, duh. What with corsets, bodices, straps, sleeves, fishtails, cut-outs and so on, you won't so much as effortlessly shimmy into the dress as wrestle it on to yourself.
#10 "Why are dressing room mirrors always so... unkind?"
One day, someone will find out.
#11 "What does it mean when my mum pulls that face?"
Respect the reactions of your family and friends, of course; but at the end of the day, remember that it's your opinion on the dresses you try on that matters the most.
#12 "Okay, this one might be... The One."
When you know, you know! Resist an impulse decision or buying for the sake of it - and make sure you give yourself time to think.
#13 "Or not."
Equally - when you know, you know!
#14 "Okay - back to the drawing board."
Or the Pinterest board. Choice is yours...
#15 "Until the next time!"
The perfect wedding dress is out there for you somewhere - strength, sister, strength!
