Melissa White unexpectedly went into labour on her best friend's big day...
A bride whose bridesmaid unexpectedly went into labour on her wedding day had the best idea to make sure her best friend was still included in the celebration.
When bride Bernadette Beahen found out her bridesmaid and best friend, Melissa White, had gone into labour on the morning of her wedding day, she sprung into action to make sure Melissa could still be included in her celebration.
Speaking to The Motherish about finding out Melissa had gone into labour, Bernadette said: "When she called me, I think we both sat on the phone crying to each other for five minutes. I had a lot of joy and happiness for her and her partner, but... it was sad she couldn't be there getting ready with us".
As soon as she hung up the phone with Melissa - who gave birth to son Hunter after an hour-long labour - Bernadette sprung into action, gathering her bridal party and photographer together and asking them to accompany her to the maternity ward.
Photographer Talitha Rice told Mashable: "[The bride] phoned me... a few hours before I was due to begin photographing to tell me the news. When she asked if it would be possible to move the schedule to allow a visit to the hospital, I of course said yes and helped her shuffle things around. I always tell couples, 'There are no rules on your wedding day and you should do whatever you like. Bernadette certainly did".
The resulting photos are gorgeous - and what a story!
