What could have been a disaster turned into joy for Heather and Matt Koehler...
A Michigan couple were left speechless when their wedding photgroapher pulled out on the day of their nuptials.
Happily, however, another photographer stepped in to help the couple recreate their big day and photograph them for free.
The couple's original photographer believed Heather and Matt were tying the knot the following weekend - with the bride only learning five minutes before she was due to walk down the aisle that there would be no professional photos taken on the big day.
Speaking about the shock discovery, Heather said it was 'disappointing', adding: "It was in the back of my mind all night though, not having professional pictures of Matt and I's first dance, or the daddy-daughter dance, or the ceremony".
However, one of the couple's guests happened to have a cousin who is a professional photographer - step in Dana Gruszynski.
Dana wrote on her blog that her cousin had told her about what happened, and that she wanted to do something about it. The big-hearted photographer contacted the newlyweds, and offered them a wedding shoot, entirely free of charge.
"After all, she at least deserved that," she wrote.
Dana had the idea to set up a shoot that would re-enact the Heather and Matt's wedding day, sourcing suppliers and even a venue that were similar to those the couple had at their celebration. She even asked her sister-in-law to reproduce the cake, and created the decorations herself as well!
On the day of the shoot, Dana told the newlyweds she had a surprise for them, and then revealed the wedding set-up.
The resulting photos were gorgeous; says Heather: "[We] couldn't believe what Dana did for us... All the work she put into it and how great it turned out, was awesome. It's something I will never forget. The pictures turned out perfect".
Of her wonderful act of kindness Dana said: "This couple is beautiful inside and out and with my passion behind the camera, I knew I had to share that with them since they didn't get that on their wedding day".
