Emma and Gerry filled their destination celebration with fun, colour and plenty of music...
Emma, a pharmacist, and Gerry, an engineer, both 30, married at Gradil Church, followed by a reception at Quinta de Sant’Ana in Gradil, Portugal.
My cousin Mary and my sister Tara got married in Gradil followed by a reception at Quinta de Sant’Ana (QSA) in 2012 and 2013 respectively, so this is a very special place for us and our families.
When we got engaged in October 2013...
...We knew instantly that QSA was the venue for us; we could trust the weather, the food is lovely, the wine is exquisite, the team are fantastic, but most of all, the venue in the summer time is just breathtaking.
The team at QSA were fantastic and did an amazing job with our décor...
They included lots of lovely signs and details, but one in particular that I loved was the ‘Three times a charm’ sign – this paid tribute to the fact that this was our third family wedding at QSA, so it was a really lovely and moving touch.
After hunting high and low for the perfect dress, I found my Suzanne Neville number which ticked all the boxes.
When I tried my dress on after all the alterations were made, I truly felt like a bride.
We flew our friend over for the ceremony who is also a priest. Father Donal was an enormous help and on the day he kept Gerry relaxed when I was 30 minutes late!
My tip for brides-to-be: if you’re planning a destination wedding, allow plenty of time for research, ensuring you explore the culture and local cuisine.
Steal their style!
