Prepare to fall in love with Ian Stuart's latest bridal collection and meet the man behind the stunning designs...

Ian Stuart is renowned for his dramatic fairy tale gowns. Heavily inspired by costume from film, theatre and '50s couture, each collection offers gowns for brides wishing to capture that kind of grandiose magic on their wedding day.

Devoted and passionate to such gowns, Ian says: "I have been designing wedding dresses for over 25 years, and the one constant I have witnessed throughout the ever changing bridal fashions, are the brides who want to feel like a princess".

He continues: "I see more and more labels buckling to recent trends, and veering towards a more slinky boho mood, which don’t get me wrong, is beautiful and great for modern brides who don’t like or want the work of carrying a big wedding dress, but what about the girls that still do? God forbid the bridal industry only catered for the masses. My favourite thing in the world is designing big dramatic dresses, so while I still hear the word ‘princess’ from brides, I’m commitment to creating those fantasy gowns for them".

For his latest collection, Runway Rebel, Ian has incorporated delicate multi-coloured embroidery, metallic laces, striped fabric, pastel colours and couture draping to create some of the most stunning fairy tale dresses he has ever created.

Ian explains: ‘I really want to encourage brides to wear colour on their wedding day, so I’ve used some exquisite subtle cool and warm tones this season. Colour tends to compliment skin tones much better, as well as adding depth to a gown, making it look much more fairy tale!"

Ian’s advice for brides looking to find their personality-perfect wedding gown? "Do you want to feel like a princess, glamourous, sexy, ethereal, punky? Choose a dress that will enhance the way you want to feel, because that’s where the magic of a wedding lies".
