Starring a Stephanie Allin bride, a duck-egg blue colourscheme and a delectable chocolate wedding cake...
Lisa Blair, 28, a theatre director and Lloyd McAllister, 29, a sustainability consultant, got married in an intimate civil ceremony at Dartmouth House, Mayfair, where they also held their reception.
We chose Dartmouth House as it is an intimate venue that’s steeped in history – plus, there’s a beautiful courtyard to enjoy if the weather is good.
Lloyd was raised in the country so we were keen to use pastel flowers with a country vibe. The colour scheme of the venue is duck egg blue, so we ran with that as our inspiration.
My dress was from Stephanie Allin Couture. When I tried on the ‘Natalia’, I knew that this was the one for me. I also had Christian Louboutin shoes, and wore my mother’s necklace.
Our cake was made by our old family friend Rita, who has made my family’s birthday cakes since we were little. We had a delicious chocolate cake and a dairy-free cake for my brother who has an allergy.
My favourite part of our day was the ceremony: it was such a special event and it was lovely to have only our closest friends and family there with us.
Ho Hey by the Lumineers was our first dance; Lloyd proposed with this song in the background so it felt right to have it on our special day.
Tip for brides-to-be: Plan the wedding little and often – this meant that we weren’t left with a colossal amount to do a few weeks before the wedding.
Steal their style!
