18 ways to work the overskirt wedding dress trend

18 ways to work the overskirt wedding dress trend

Written by Sarah Tippett

Want to make an entrance on your wedding day? We have one word for you: overskirt.

The overskirt is really coming into its own this 2016 (*whispered* and for 2017 too). Not only are some detachable #GASP (which means you literally, like, get two dresses in one) but they add that added WOW-factor to your gown. Here's some of our current favourite picks...

If you want something subtle when it comes to the overskirt effect - this Essence gown (on the left) nails it. While the Karen Willis Holmes beauty on the right brings a little more tulle to the table in the overskirt region... #LOVE

Bridal brand, House of Mooshki brings us on-point overskirt behaviour...

Berta Bridal's decadent offerings will knock your socks off (and probably everything else you're wearing too)...

Say hello to this FABULOUS Cristallini gown. #WOWee

Pronovias know how to create a showstopper, and this beauty (on the left) is no exception. However, for an even more contemporary, fashion-forward twist, why not opt for a jumpsuit with an overskirt? We're in love with this Monique Lhuillier Spring/Summer 2017 bridal creation (right)...

Want to WOW the crowd? (Don't we all!?) Opt for Monique Lhuillier then - and indulge in these AMAZING #OMG Fall 2016 creations...

Zuhair Murad's Fall 2016 collection has the most DIVINE overskirt creations - in fact, our eyes are watering just looking at them...

And again, this delectable, embellished beauty on the left (from Zuhair Murad's Spring/Summer'17 collection) will blow your guests away. As will, this delight on the right, again from his Fall'16 collection...#wewantthemall

For an unusual twist on the overskirt effect turn to this lace beauty by Ines Di Santo (on the left)! And, we adore this delight from Divine Atelier (right).

Last but not least, we love this pick from Mori Lee (left), and think, if you want only a hint of the overskirt, this tulle effect by Mira Zwillinger will be right up your street!
