8 ways to unwind the night before your wedding

8 ways to unwind the night before your wedding

Written by Katie Byrne

Feeling a serious case of the bridal jitters? These ideas will help you relax - promise!

#1 Reassure yourself that everything will be fine

Because it will! Seriously. If you're stressing about anything in particular, make sure you have a Plan B organised, just in case; also, make sure you have a list of all your vendors' phone numbers, so your Maid of Honour and/or Best Man can deal with any last-minute dramas.

#2 Head outdoors

If you're feeling agitated, head outdoors. Taking deep breaths of fresh air and going for a stroll will help you clear your mind - or, if you're feeling in the mood, go for a jog instead. The feel-good endorphins released by exercise will make you feel way more chilled.

#3 Run a hot bath

Create your very own spa: think hot bath, lots of luxurious oil (we adore super-soothing Olverum's bath products - perfect for unwinding), candles...

#4 Netflix-n-chill with your favourite TV show

Some post-bath R&R time curled up with The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt or similar will help take your mind off any nerves or jitters. Sit back, relax and unwind!

#5 Talk to your parents

After all, it's your last night as their 'little girl', so enjoy some quality time with them.

#6 Write down how you feel

It will make a precious souvenir to re-read in years to come - and also distract you

#7 Talk to your partner

Especially if you're spending the night before the wedding apart - having a few minutes on the phone together will help you share the excitement and anticipation of the day ahead. And don't forget - he's probably feeling just the same!

#8 Have an early night

Even if you're not sleepy! Turn off the light, put down your phone and try to fall asleep. Sweet dreams, brides-to-be...
