Kerry and Ben tied the knot in a glorious celebration filled with dreamy DIY details and sweet nods to family
Kerry, 33, a sleep practitioner, and Ben, 37, a sales executive, held both their ceremony and reception at Barton Hall in Northamptonshire.
I couldn't believe our luck when we stumbled across the stunning Barton Hall. The orangery was the most perfect location for our service and the relaxed feel of the venue and staff just added to our dream day.
For us, a handmade look was more important than using shop-bought items.
We wanted everything to be a reflection of all the pretty things that we like and enjoy as a couple. To help achieve this look, my bridesmaid's mother, Veronica, even got on board, along with my friend Lucy, who both tirelessly handmade my bridesmaids' dresses in just six months!
Our daughter Poppy was keen to be involved as much as possible too, she spent hours using her 'neatest handwriting' to hand-make our table names and a sign to hold as she took her pride of place walking down the aisle!
I loved the morning of my wedding – being surrounded by my mum and best friends was perfect. We drank champagne and listened to our favourite tunes while we got pampered by the makeup artist, it was such a relaxed and precious moment.
Having Poppy in front of me and being greeted at the end of the aisle by my best friend, husband-to-be and our baby boy Ted, is a memory I will forever cherish.
Our marriage was about the four of us sharing our name and sharing life, and everything about our day was so special – even as we said 'I do' a butterfly entered the orangery and landed on our rose garland, which made it all the more beautiful.
My tip for brides-to-be: The day itself is so overwhelming; try to sit back, relax and enjoy every minute.
Steal their style!
