Sarah and Dan held a 'vintage mish-mash' celebration, filled with retro twists
Sarah, 27, and Dan, 28, held both their ceremony and reception at The Museum of Kent Life in Kent.
Dan proposed in the Grand Canyon, and we had absolutely no phone signal, so we had to wait to tell everyone back home!
We visited lots of venues but nothing spoke to us. We then found Kent Life and, despite us visiting on a rainy day in March - the venue was flooded and none of the flowers were in bloom - we loved it!
We didn't want a predictable English country garden wedding, although we did have a soft pink and green palette with floral prints. If anyone asked my theme, I said it was 'vintage mish mash'!
I was far from a bridezilla - if anything, Dan was groomzilla! He got really involved because he wanted everything to be perfect, so he made the stickers for the jam jars of sweets we gave as favours, as well as the wooden Polaroid frame for the photobooth. He also made the ring box with our names on it.
One of my favourite moments was the journey to the venue in a camper van - it was a lovely sunny day, and I was wth my bridesmaids listening to our favourite tunes and drinking Champagne. It was one of my best journeys ever!
My tip for brides-to-be: Remember it is your day - so don't let other people take over or insist on things. You will only do it once, so do it exactly how you envisioned. And remember to enjoy yourselves!
Steal their style!
