Emma and Tom said 'I do' in a pastel-pink and flower-filled celebration
Emma West, 32, a commercial analyst, and Tom von Speyr, 34, a senior account manager, tied the knot at St Mary Magdalene Church in Latimer, Buckinghamshire, followed by a Hollywood-inspired reception at nearby Latimer Place.
We wanted a sophisticated, elegant style for our wedding, and chose colours of pale pink and cream, black, gold and silver.
Latimer Place was the most friendly and relaxed venue that we visited, and it had so much history. Charles I was imprisoned in the original house, and Charles II also took refuge there.
We had our reception at the hotel, and our guests, meaning we could all have breakfast together the next morning.
Music is so important to us - we had a string trio perform during the drinks repcetion. The playlist was personally selected and included many Disney songs (including Frozen for our flower girl, Tom's niece Olivia), rock songs like Sweet Child of Mine and theme tunes, such as Game of Thrones and Harry Potter.
We opted against a traditional wedding cake and chose to have a cheese wedding tower, as our families are cheese-lovers. We also thought cheese, biscuits and ham would soak up the alcohol better in the evening!
My tip for brides-to-be: I would say don't hurry into buying your dress too early as you may regret it. Even if you think you can't afford a certain brand, they often have sample sales and old stock available - it's just a case of asking them.
Steal their style!
