The American heiress and her aristocratic banking beau tied the knot in London yesterday afternoon
Congratulations to Nicky Hilton and James Rothschild - they've married!
US hotel heiress Nicky (the younger sister of socialite and DJ Paris) tied the knot with her banker beau James Rothschild in a lavish ceremony held at Kensington Palace in London.
Nicky dazzled in a high-necked wedding gown from Valentino - worth an estimated £50,000 - which featured lace sleeves and a trailing train, and was rather similar to that worn by Grace Kelly at her 1957 wedding to Prince Rainier III of Monaco.
Nicky paired her couture dress with an embroidered cathedral-length veil - and the only slight hiccup of the day came when said-veil was caught under the wheels of the Bentley that delivered her to the venue. Fortunately it was removed without any damage - and the blushing bride was freed to enter her wedding venue!
Big sister Paris played Maid Of Honour in a strapless pastel-blue frock, whilst one of James' sisters was bridesmaid.
The night before their wedding, Nicky and James hosted a celebratory gathering at Spencer House in Mayfair, where the happy couple cut into a cake decorated with their names.
On the morning of the wedding, Paris uploaded a photo from the party to Instagram, captioned: "So happy that my sister found the man of her dreams. They make the perfect couple! So excited for their wedding today![sic]"
The pair have been dating since 2011, and announced their engagement in September 2014, revealing that James had secretly travelled to the US to ask Nicky's father, Rick Hilton, for his permission before James popped the question.
