And it was to die for...
As wedding themes go, this one is rather unusual - and we love it.
NFL star DeAngelo Williams tied the knot with his long-term love Risalyn Burzynski in Tennessee on Saturday, in a celebration themed around cult show Walking Dead.
The nuptials, which saw the bridal party transformed into zombies (yes - there was a lot of fake blood), were filmed by ESPN - scroll down to watch the video below!
DeAngelo and Risalyn were married last month
The newlyweds, who have been dating since college, both threw themselves whole-heartedly into their theme: Risalyn's wedding dress was covered in gore, and a lot of prosthetic make-up was used to transform the happy couple and their friends into zombies.
Needless to say - it looked utterly sensational.
Speaking on-camera about his inspiration for the wedding day, DeAngelo explained: "I’m a huge Walking Dead fan. I wanted to do engagement photos of us being chased by zombies and we didn’t have time because it was during [the football] season and we didn’t have the opportunity, so [Risalyn] was like, ‘How are you going to pull that off?’”
DeAngelo came up with theming the wedding around the show, with Risalyn explaining: "He didn’t have to convince me. He really had to convince the bridesmaids, and then he said they had to do it because they’re bridesmaids!"
DeAngelo concluded of the celebration: "It is a dream come true. What makes it even more magical is not only did I become a walker, I became a husband".
