Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have released a joint statement - the first since Angelina filed for divorce in September last year.
In the document, the couple announced: "The parties and their counsel have signed agreements to preserve the privacy rights of their children and family by keeping all court documents confidential and engaging a private judge to make any necessary legal decisions and to facilitate the expeditious resolution of any remaining issues. The parents are committed to act as a united front to effectuate recovery and reunification".
The news follows last week's revelation that Angelina has agreed to Brad's request to keep the case surrounding the divorce proceedings sealed; Brad claimed to want the seal in order to protect the couple's chilren, although initial rumours suggested Angelina believed he was actually 'terrified that the public will learn the truth'.
Brad and Angelina had been married for two years when Angelina filed the divorce papers, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the shock split.
Sources at the time report Brad was left 'completely devestated' by the split; he made his first public appearance since since November at the Golden Globe Awards on Monday evening.
