A new survey has uncovered some interesting stats
New research has uncovered the wedding details brides and grooms most regret spending money on.
The study, conducted by vouchercodespro.co.uk, quizzed 2,412 men and women about their post-wedding spending concerns - and over half said they regretted how much they spent on their nuptials.
With the average UK salary currently at £26,500 - and the typical wedding costing around £25,000 - it's perhaps not surprising to find that couples are sometimes left with spending regrets after they've said 'I do'.
Over a quarter (27%) of the brides surveyed admitted they thought the flowers were the biggest unnecessary spend, with decorations (21%), groomswear (18%), food and drink (11%) and transportation (7%) all sitting within the top five.
The pecking order looked a little different for grooms, with 24% of men considering their wife's wedding dress the biggest unnecessary expense; the bridesmaid dresses followed with 21%, with flowers (16%), suits (10%) and the reception venue (7%) bringing up the rear.
