A traditional Scottish wedding, filled with pops of colour

A traditional Scottish wedding, filled with pops of colour

Christina and Paul filled their wedding with twists of heritage

Christina Leask and Paul Livingstone married at St Andrews in the Square in Glasgow.

Photographer: Carley Buick

We met in November 2010 at a birthday party and got engaged in Barcelona in July 2015, in front of the Fountains of Montjuic. Paul got down on one knee with my great-granny's engagement ring, which I have always loved. It was very romantic and a very special but surreal moment which we'll never forget.

We didn't start out with a particular theme in mind for the wedding. The interior of our venue was so beautiful that it just wasn't necessary to have a bold, overly-defined look. Instead, we wanted a traditional Scottish wedding that was elegant and natural.

I found it relatively easy to choose my wedding dress - I knew I wanted a fitted design with lace that was both modern and elegant. I found my dress in a shop called Anne Priscilla Bridal in Glasgow. They had the most amazing selection and the staff completely understood what I wanted.

The Pronovias dress was elegant and suited the classic style of our venue perfectly - the fabric was amazing quality and it was such an easy dress to wear all day, too!

One of my favourite moments of the day was dancing with our nearest and dearest to the traditional Scottish song, Loch Lomond

The wedding really was the best day ever. If I could do it all again, I wouldn't do anything differently - it was perfect.

My advice for future brides? Don't get too stressed over the minor details. Nobody really cares!

I threw a bride-zilla fit the day before the wedding when we were setting up the venue because I thought the speakers looked huge. But guess what? It didn't matter! The venue looked great, even with the speakers.

Remind yourself that your guests aren't going to notice the tiny details. All that really matters is that everyone is having a great time.

Steal their style!
